Festival Survival Guide – Extra’s
Backpack-To carry your clothing and equipment. Wheeled suitcases do not work well on rough ground.
Rucksack – To carry your daily essentials
Tent – If your tent is new, set your tent up before you go so you know what to do on the day. Make sure your tent is in good condition.
Sleeping bag and roll mat – for a comfortable nights sleep (yeah right!)
Clothing – Wrap clothing in plastic bags to keep dry. Bring enough clothing to see you through the festival. Bring clothing suitable for hot and cold conditions and include a waterproof jacket
Footwear – Bring comfortable footwear that you don’t mind wearing all day and night. If bringing flip flops make sure there are robust, walking from one side of festival to the other with on flip-flop is not good. Don’t forget your wellies no matter what the forecast says.
Essentials – Sun protection, Hat, Sun Glasses, toilet roll, pocket multi-tool, insect repellent, plastic bags to clear up rubbish and bring home your dirty gear, water , some festivals allow you to take water (check first) water can be used for washing as well as drinking,
Communication – You will want to stay in contact with your friends. It is easy to lose where your friends are at a festival. If you use a mobile phone take spare battery or power bank and some means of charging. Walkie talkies are a good way to keep in touch and don’t rely on signal. Make sure they have a good range.
Cash – Take enough money for the festival, sometimes there are cash machines. Do not keep all your money in one place.
Medication – Bring any medication you need in case of an emergency. Tell friends where you have put your medication and any conditions you may have.
Security – Unfortunately thieves do operate at festivals. Leave your valuables at home. Some festivals have deposit boxes that you can use but please check first. Do not leave all your money in one place. If taking a mobile phone keep it in a secure pocket so as not to be pick pocketed.
